Training Method

Advantages

  • Consolidated into a single training session. (ranging from 2 - 4 weeks based on ship’s systems)
  • Can be presented on-site at any U.S. port/location.
  • Operators and technicians will be in the same class, which allows for interaction and cross-training
  • Concentration of training allows for repetition of key topics and questions.

Disadvantages

  • Training is very specific to the systems on a specific ship; may not be reasonable to combine ship’s crews
  • Typical length of training (typically 2-4 weeks) is difficult on students attention span
  • Length of training may create crew scheduling problems
  • Cannot tailor specific levels of training to individual needs of crew and personnel
  • Operators may not understand the technical information
